The Civic Action Team Mission
What we do
Community Construction
We provide free construction support to the Palau community, as determined by the Civic Action Coordination Committee.
Apprenticeship Program
We assist and train 10 apprentices in Carpentry, Welding, Heavy Equipment, and Plumbing. At the end of the apprenticeship program, all apprentices receive an NCCER Trades Academy Certification.
Community Relations
The CAT Team fosters strong relations with the local community by putting on community events, hosting fitness classes, supporting different holiday events, and running a free auto-repair shop on Camp Katuu. We also host a weekly radio show on EFPM 87.9
Medical Care
We have our own clinic on Camp Katuu that is free to the public! Our team doctor also hosts a weekly “Doc Talk” radio show and presents health education programs for local residents.
Monument Maintenance
Once a month, we take a boat ride to Peleliu and Angaur and we do routine clean-up and operation checks on the seven WWII monuments out there.
Camp Katuu Maintenance
Lastly, we are in charge of the sustainment and upkeep of Camp Katuu and all our equipment.
